B&B CASA DEL CAPITANO
The Captains House is an old suggestive apartment. From it’s windows you can admire the historic piazza in which stands the magnificent work of art by Bernini: ‘Fontana del Tritone’ ( Tritone Fountain ) The fountain was commissioned by the Pope Urbano Barberini 8th in 1642 and is a splendid example of typical Roman Art. In the same piazza stands the modest ‘Fontana Delle Api’ ( Foutain Of The Bees ) Just behind this fountain you will find the famous via Veneto, one of the symbols of the Roman ‘dolce vita’ ( sweet life ) with it’s exclusive bars, shops and restaurants leading to one of Romes most famous old villa’s which is now a museum of art: the Villa Borghese.
This is only one of the many itineraries that start at the famous piazza Barberini, you can choose or we can suggest to you where to see famous works of art or how to find the best shopping areas that you can reach just a short walk away.
You’ll find a unique atmosphere at our B&B, made to feel welcome surrounded by history. The Captain of the guard of Barberini lived in the house that is now the B&B in his name. Many years ago the house played host to many important visitors, the most famous of whom was Giuseppe Mazzini, the famous Italian patriot who was influential in the unification of Italy.

To Reach Us
From
the central train station ’Termini’ take the metro A in
the direction ‘Battistini’ get off at the ‘Barberini’
stop and you will find yourself just a few meters from the B&B.
If you prefer to take the bus take the 492 or 175 getting off at th
6th stop ‘piazza Barberini’
From the Leonardo Da Vinci or ‘Fiumicino’ FCO airport you
can easily reach the Termini station by taking the ‘Leonardo Express’
train from inside the terminal building.
From the Ciampino CIA airport we recommend that you take the ‘Cotral’ bus to the Ciampino train station then take the train ( every 15 mins ) to the Termini station.
